24x7 Unix support specialist will be responsible for support and maintenance of Unix/Linux servers. Our new colleague will do the proactive monitoring of systems and in time resolution of basic incidents and service requests including communication to customers. You will ensure seamless operation and monitoring of Unix/Linux servers, including server HW, data storage, SAN, corresponding infrastructure, operating environment and SW.

Náplň práce

  • Troubleshoot HW or Operating System related issues 
  • Take full end-to-end responsibility for assuring permanent correct fixed for issues related to basic administration
  • Minimize activities with a negative impact on operating environment availability, schedule any necessary system outages with appropriate key account manager
  • Work with third party support centres on gathering necessary information for resolution of any issues or errors in the production environment
  • Proactively monitor all IT Operation subsystems including servers, storage and infrastructure ensuring optimal utilization of systems 
  • Cooperate with application development and testing department on addressing problems and errors in production environment.
  • Attend to tasks assigned through request management system (JIRA, etc.) concerning task severity and criticality and business SLAs.


  • High school education/university degree in IT or relevant background.
  • 1+ year of experience in UNIX system administration - Red Hat Enterprise Linux, HP-UX...
  • 1+ year Centralized tape backup technologies and principles - LTO library, HP DataProtector
  • 1+ year System monitoring and reporting tools - Nagios, HP OpenView, CA
  • 1+ year standard network services and applications - DNS, WWW, e-mail, FTP, SSH,…
  • Willingness to work on the 3 shift model (morning, evening, night, weekends and holiday).
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Solid team worker manners and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and drive small internal projects on time and in expected quality.
  • Strong sense of ownership and customer focus.
  • Basic understanding of IT operations processes and practices
  • English spoken and written
